How To Make A Whippet Is My Dog A Whippet Or An Italian Greyhound?

Is my dog a whippet or an italian greyhound? - how to make a whippet

I have recently rescued a dog of 2 years and I'm not sure if this is a grehyound Italian or a greyhound, but obviously one or the other. looks like a race. with a weight of 21 pounds, which is in the middle of the two standards. Does anyone know of any key characteristic that distinguishes between the Italian greyhound and a greyhound?

  1. A Greyhound - Italian Greyhound should be about 12 pounds and 15 inches by the shoulder, so that its much IG breed standard, but in the line for the greyhound. Italian Greyhounds something is a little more to the breed standard - but not nearly twice as much!

  3. Your dog is in fact an Italian Greyhound! I have one and looks exactly like yours! Like humans Italian Greyhounds are available in various sizes and yours is bigger. A greyhound has a
various body and face. Its color is classic Italian Greyhound is a dilute blue! Very sweet dogs!

  4. Italian Greyhounds are very small ... like 6-10 pounds. It is likely that you have a greyhound or a greyhound mix have.

Edit: This is a beautiful dog ... love the color. I would say it's definitely a dog ... Whippet IG are small and it is not.

  5. It is a difficult decision, but I would say it is a noble gas. The weight is a crucial factor in reproduction, but does not necessarily mean that his uncle is a greyhound, as my wife and I have a heavier than the average GI (15 pounds), and saw 20 pounds before CGI.

I think we should see more pictures, but if you would take the form of your head, I say, IG.

  6. Your dog is a greyhound Italian - no doubt. Italian Greyhounds have released nearly 10 years, and the dog has the qualities unchallenged IG. This is what we call a "Iggy Biggy! For more information about IGGI http://www.iggyplanet.com check.

  7. Go to the AKC website. There are rules that are given for both races.

  10. I would say it is probably a mix of Greyhound, but rather as the IG-IG, as I have seen are incredibly small, maybe 5 pounds!

  11. This could be a combination of both, or a poorly bred one or other version.

  16. .. HM could become reality. One of my friends have the IG, are shown all reputable breeders thoroughbreds and that large for the standard to be. Both were about 20 pounds. Now my greyhound, who is also the thoroughbred breeder and a good a greyhound to 50 lbs huge. It seems that these days, greyhounds and IG usually grow a little longer than expected, so I wouldnt be surprised if your husband is a high GI. Their facial features resemble that of a chat instead of a dog, in my opinion. In addition, greyhounds rarely after all accommodations / rescue (unless a ransom of course) as a breed are highly protected.
